First Lady's "Scare"

So as I'm watching What About Brian tonight, I keep seeing commercials for the news and they keep promoting some story about Laura Bush's scare with skin cancer and her minor surgery. I don't mean to be harsh, but I was honestly thinking, "Who the hell cares about Laura Bush?" You know what a real scare is? When you have a mole the size of Idaho growing on your face and you don't have health insurance. She has access to the finest doctors and treatment in the world. Her physicians would catch (have caught) it super early and treat it immediately with medicine that isn't even available to civilians. The news is such a joke.

Freakin' ay.
Since we're on the subject of Mrs. Bush, they had a special this weekend on HGTV about decorating the White House for the Holidays and how the first lady prepares for it. Hundreds of man hours and staffers are hired to work, making it a glossy fancy-shmancy-x-mas. Mrs. Bushs said, "My thoughts are with the men and women serving our country overseas." whatever! She really needs to put up a huge sign that says "My husband is a draft-dodger" and use the "holiday funds" to send care packages to the families of troop members. At least show a sense that our country is at war, or somethinig symbolic and meaningful...such as the case in the following:

"In 1974 the Blue Room tree of President Gerald R. Ford was decked out with homemade ornaments and patchwork-lined swags to signal thrift and recycling. In 1980 President Jimmy Carter ordered that the lights of the giant Christmas Tree on the Ellipse be turned on for only 417 seconds -- the number of days the hostages had been held in Iran."

I'm all about being festive and all people, but I think spending $8,500 on Mrs. Bush's holiday dress is a bit absurd and it really does put shix into perspective. The last time I checked, America's deficit = $454bil.

On a happier note, I'd like to give a shout out to Christ Jesus.
Happy birthday to you on Dec. 25th.

I'm done ranting. Peace out.
