Dr. Burke The Jerk

In a recent interview, Isaiah Washington (Dr. Burke) denies ever calling T.R. Knight (George O'Malley) a "faggot" on the set of Grey's Anatomy.

"No, I did not call (co-star) T.R. (Knight) a faggot," Washington said. "Never happened, never happened."

Katherine Heigl is very upset at Washington saying, in an Access Hollywood interview at a Golden Globes after-party:

"I'm going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period. I'm sorry, that did not need to be said. I'm not OK with it." She called the comments "hurtful," characterizing the incident as one that should be handled privately among the show's cast and crew. "I don't think (Washington) means it the way he comes off," Heigl said. "But T.R. is my best friend. ... I will use every ounce of energy I have to take you down if you hurt his feelings."

T.R. Knight went on the Ellen Degeneres Show to set the record straight - Washington DID call him a "faggot" and everyone heard it.

Tsk tsk. Isaiah Washington should be man enough to own up to his mistakes and apologize. And he shouldn't try to clean up his image via TV tabloid shows, especially if he's just going to lie. The rumors are that someone is going to die on the third season of Grey's - could it be Dr. Burke?
